User Tab Permissions allow you to manage and control what functionality – or tabs – in the portal that your users have access to.

[Example of Customer Service User permissions]

In our previous video, we learned how to create User Tab Permissions. In this video, we’ll review how you can assign User Tab Permissions to specific login accounts.

In this example, we’d like to assign User Tab Permissions to a member of our Customer Service department.

[Admin portal home page.]

To do this, we’ll start on the Logins tab. Since we’re looking for an Administrator user account, we’ll go to the administrator page.

[Grid listing Admin user accounts]

On your list of Administrator users, you’ll see a column with the user Role Name. If you see a user account that has a Role Name, that means that user account already has User Tab Permissions applied.

Find the account you need to manage and click the plus icon.

You’ll see various options for managing the user account. Click the one that says “Manage User Roles”.

A window will open listing all the user roles you have created. We’re going to select the Customer Service one and then click Save.

[Highlights the user role name for the Admin login account.]

The user role has been assigned.

[Customer Service home page displays]

Now when this user is logged in, she will only see the functionality that is specific to the Customer Service role.
